) 9/26/04 - don't be shy
September 26th, a much-needed day of rest for the king wilkie touring machine. In other news, the band (along with Nickel Creek) made the cover of �Moon Shiner�, the only bluegrass magazine in Japan.) 9/20/04 - any major dude with half a heart
King Wilkie returned home today after a long enjoyable tour. Just a couple days to rest before leaving again for the Americana Music Conference in Nashville. It's been a pleasure meeting friends new and old on the road! Thanks

) 9/19/04 - oh the night was dark and stormy
....into the dead center of the heartlands of America we go. The tour continues to roll on through Missouri and so far no sign of the inclement weather caused by hurricane ivan. The band is now enjoying two days of amusement in Branson. Check the AV page for a movie update. Also, check the tour page for one or two new dates posted.)

) 9/13/04 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL MONROE
The band has been in Michigan for the last few days at the incredible Wheatland Music Festival. 30,000 people at this event, most definitely the largest audience King Wilkie has ever
played for. If anyone has pictures we'd love to see them since our camera broke back in Kentucky. In other news, CMT.com's New Voices No Cover video performance of King Wilkie goes live tomorrow.

9/8/04 - near couisn's island
September�s tour has been rolling along for about a week now and so far so good.
Much of today was a continuation of last night's drive from Portland, ME to Chicago. The Thomas Point Beach festival in Maine included 3 KW sets and several workshops over 2 beautiful seaside days. The temperature
was quite nippy for the final set but everyone was feeling warmed up after eating lobster and doing some meditation (thanks A. Young.) This show was marked by an uncharacteristic opening with �Boy from Richmond�
(probably in response to being sandwiched between two hard-driving bluegrass acts, Bob Paisley
and the Southern Grass and Del McCoury.) At the end of the night, King Wilkie and Del McCoury Band joined forces on stage for a Thomas Point Beach farewell. It was a grand sight to see.

8/23/04 - everything's a okay
Friday and Saturday King Wilkie was in Columbus, Ohio for a radio spot and a festival. There was lots of unusual sightseeing from the van as we made our way through some rural parts of the state. More updates: The goal is to have an album completed before this time next year, but with all the touring and other things slated to happen between now and then, it gets tricky. People are still optimistic that the album finish line can be reached in time, so long as everyone continues to remain focused and work hard. )

Congratulations to Drew Breakey who married Kate Wall in South Carolina this weekend. This marks the end of Drew's days as a touring musician and hence his tenure in King Wilkie. He will be greatly missed. After the wedding, the band spent a day in Charleston basking in the warm sun. The rest of August looks to be a productive month of rehearsals and political maneuvers, working on a brand new batch of songs as well as planning tours of the Northeast, Northwest and California for late '04 early '05.
