12/31/04 - the light shines in your eyes
Today was Ted Pitney's birthday, and like many members of bands, he spent
it playing a show. And a fine show it was. New years' celebrators from far a-field poured into Nashville's beautiful Ryman Auditorium
to ring in 2005 with memorable fashion. Everyone was feeling loose and later some of the band commented that this was
their favorite show of the entire year! Thanks again to the Del McCoury Band. oh, yes�new tour dates have been added, including the Winnipeg Folk Festival and a just-announced 2/4 Asheville NC show. UK and Ireland dates will be announced soon. )

King Wilkie played a holiday concert at the Bijou theater in Knoxville TN last night. This show was
filmed for television and will air this spring on participating pbs stations in the southeastern US.

) 12/16/04 - 2005 tour dates

In Vermont and New Hampshire we were fortunate to open for the Del McCoury Band. These shows were very cool and offered a taste of what might take place in Nashville on New Year�s Eve.
At the hotel after the set in Burlington we joined the McCoury band at the bar and proceeded to stay awake 'til we could see light coming up and beautiful Lake Champlain. A perfect way to end a tour.That pretty much wraps up our �04 shows. The band is taking a break from the road next month to get some much-needed rest and work on material for a new album. Happy Thanksgiving everybody. )

) 11/20/04 - come on baby lets go downtown
earlier this week the band was in Boston for a photo-shoot with photographer Herbie Greene (Mr. Greene is responsible for countless memorable pictures of Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin.)
It was an honor to work with the man. We were very impressed with his work and had a fun little party at his house�Thanks to Kevin Lynch for this photo with
bluegrass legend Frank Wakefield on Wednesday night.)
11/17/04 - different drum
Back in NYC for two nights of as part of the �sheriff sessions.� This was a wonderful event. Thanks to the sheriff and everyone who put these shows together�we had a blast. On Friday afternoon the band headed up to Sirius Satellite Radio studios in Rockefeller Center to tape a show. All went well and here�s the interesting part: who was watching
the whole time without us knowing it? LINDA RONSTADT!! Reid nearly had a heart attack when he learned this. Fortunately Ms. Ronstadt apparently really liked the performance and was seen smiling and nodding her head the whole time. Lesson learned is that you never know whats behind a glass wall.)

11/5/04 - stretch limousine double parked
King Wilkie just got off the stage of the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium. Incredible. We loaded in at about 6:30 and discovered that there was no soundcheck
to be done. So it is was back to the dressing room for sandwiches, warm up exercises and various nonsense. Before we knew it, the show was in progress, and at about
8:30 the band was introduced and played 2 songs, �In the Pines� and �Brokedown and Lonesome.� For a little band from Virginia named King WIlkie, this is pretty much one of the most amazing things that has ever happened.)
